Commission’s Directive on Data Protection.
Protect My Ministry gathers and maintains consumer, candidate, or applicant data from and for prospective and current employers related to the background screening process for use in making employment and volunteer decisions. All data is collected, stored and delivered in compliance with applicable law, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the European Union Data Protection Directive and other local, state and federal laws.
Protect My Ministry affords individuals the opportunity to choose whether their personal information will be disclosed to a third party or will be used for a purpose incompatible with the purpose for which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized by the individual.
- Onward Transfer (Transfers to Third Parties)
With respect to the transfer of consumer data to third parties, Protect My Ministry applies the Notice and Choice Principles. Protect My Ministry only discloses consumer data to their agents who enter into a written agreement with Protect My Ministry, in which the third party agrees to provide the same level of privacy protection as is required by these privacy principles.
In compliance with, and as dictated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, a consumer may request, in writing, access to all data collected and maintained about them. Protect My Ministry affords the consumer a reasonable opportunity to correct, amend, or delete information that is inaccurate or incomplete, except where the burden or expense of providing access would be disproportionate to the risks to the individual’s privacy, or where the rights of persons other than the individual would be violated.
Protect My Ministry takes all reasonable precautions to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. All consumer’s and user’s information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is kept strictly confidential in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. Furthermore, all employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Protect My Ministry’s systems implement several layers of security features that are constructed to ensure confidentiality and integrity of all applicant and client data. These layers are a combination of industry proven standards and software, including but not limited to, a User ID/password configuration for web and system access, data transfers under the HTTP/SSL industry requirements, industry standard vendor IDS (Intrusion Detection System) solutions, and virus defense software scanning application of all data file transfers to and from Protect My Ministry ‘s servers.
- Data Integrity
Protect My Ministry only collects data that is strictly necessary for the purposes listed under the section entitled Notice, including, but not limited to, information that is necessary to identify the consumer for employment and volunteer screening. Protect My Ministry takes reasonable steps to ensure that data is reliable for its intended use, accurate, complete and current.
